Read LeeAnn’s Medicaid Story, Athens, Ohio

"I lost my job due to addiction and being able to enroll in Medicaid allowed me to receive critical inpatient and outpatient treatment and medications...It was Medicaid that threw me a lifeline and gave me my life back."

“My name is LeeAnn. I live in Athens, Ohio.

I was enrolled in Medicaid for 3 years. My coverage ended in November of 2019.

I lost my job due to addiction and being able to enroll in Medicaid allowed me to receive critical inpatient treatment and medications. Medicaid also allowed me to have access to a network of resources and recovery support that I could not have found on my own.

Medicaid helps restore health and wellness to so many people like me.

Today, I work full time as a Chemical Dependency Counselor and I have health coverage through my employer, but it was Medicaid that threw me a lifeline and gave me my life back.
